Completion Policy

Notice to participants: In order to qualify for AOTA CEUs, you must attend at least 3 hours of the course (for partial credit), meet at least 2 of the objectives for the course and sign in and out on the sheets provided documenting your attendance at the course. A self-evaluation will be used for learners to determine if they have met the objectives of the course.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be in writing, including the reason for canceling and must received by RAIR at least three weeks prior to the course; no compensation will be granted after that date. If the cancellation meets the three week deadline, a refund, minus a $50 processing fee, will be issued following the program. Participants may transfer their tuition to a colleague with no penalty up until the day of the course. Tuition transfers must be in writing and include the new participant’s registration form.

RAIR reserves the right to cancel any course with due cause and refund in full. Participants purchasing NON-refundable airfare tickets are encouraged to inquire as to session availability before final purchase. Registrants bear the sole responsibility for their transportation to the Symposium. Weather and/or transportation difficulties are not the responsibility of the Symposium sponsor, Richter Active Integration Resources, and failure of a chosen means of transportation is not grounds for tuition refund when the Symposium is held.

Complaint Resolution Policy

Richter Active Integration Resources (RAIR) commits to our course participants to provide an adequate environment for learning, a course that provides the published learning objectives, and an atmosphere free from discrimination. This policy offers two avenues for pursing a complaint: an Informal Resolution Procedure and a Formal Resolution Procedure. An individual may utilize either or both of these avenues of resolution.

Informal Resolution Procedure: This informal procedure is intended to encourage communication between the course instructor, RAIR onsite staff, and participant directly in order to facilitate a mutual understanding of what may be different perspectives regarding the complaint and to find a solution. The presenter will review the course objectives; the RAIR onsite staff will investigate any complaint concerning the facility and/or determine the participant’s anticipated/expected needs. If the nature of the complaint is relayed to the presenter/RAIR onsite staff on the first day, and the area of concern cannot be satisfied, the participant will receive a refund of the tuition fee minus the non-refundable registration fee. If the course participant brings the complaint after the end of the first day of class, and the concern/complaint cannot be resolved, the course participant will receive a refund of the pro-rated amount of the tuition fee for days in attendance minus the non-refundable registration fee. If the Informal Resolution Procedure does not result in the satisfactory resolution of the complaint to the participant, he/she may utilize the Formal Resolution Procedure.

Formal Resolution Procedure: A formal complaint shall be in writing to the RAIR CE Administrator and shall set forth a statement of the facts of the complaint, the steps taken to solve the complaint with the course instructor/RAIR onsite staff and course participant’s expected solution for the complaint. This formal complaint should be sent to RAIR, 1137 McKusick Road Ln N, Stillwater, MN 55082 or info@rairsymposium.com. This information must be received by RAIR’s CE Administrator within 30 days from the end of the course of concern. The CE Administrator will then request a written statement of the informal procedures followed by the course instructor and/or RAIR onsite staff member. The CE Administrator will respond in writing to the course participant’s Formal Complaint within 45 days of receipt of the Formal Complaint with a decision regarding the participant’s complaint resolution.

Any resolution that includes refund of tuition will also include withdrawal of CE credits.

Americans with Disabilities Act Policy

Richter Active Integration Resources (RAIR) strives to facilitate, within reason, appropriate resources, services and auxiliary aids to allow each qualified person with a documented self-disclosed disability equitable access to educational programs and career opportunities. The Symposium Coordinator shall act as ADA coordinator for the company to oversee compliance in the areas of facilities, learner accommodations and employment practices.

These policies and procedures ensure that persons with disabilities will not, on the basis of that disability, be denied equal access to company resources. It is the responsibility of all company staff to adhere to this policy of equal access.

For RAIR clients with disabilities and related extensive need for accommodation, RAIR will coordinate with persons in charge of the facilities where its courses are held. For participants needing support, please contact RAIR at least 3 weeks prior to the course date.

Definitions

“Persons with disabilities” means persons who have a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, have a record of such impairment, or are regarded as having such impairment.

“Reasonable and appropriate accommodations” means facilities modifications and/or service adjustments determined by RAIR staff in consultation with the workshop registrant, facility manager, or other appropriate resource. Assistive technology and assistance with physical barriers that could limit mobility are examples of reasonable and appropriate accommodations.

Part I: Policy Statement
In compliance with federal civil rights law relating to persons with disabilities RAIR is committed to a policy of nondiscrimination solely on the basis of disabilities status. RAIR is an equal opportunity/affirmative action corporation and is committed to a policy of nondiscrimination on the basis of race, sex, age, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, and veteran status. This policy covers admission and access to, and participation, treatment and employment in the company’s programs, activities, and services. Sexual harassment is prohibited under this policy. This policy applies to all RAIR facilities and guides in the selection of the use of outside facilities.

Part II: Rights and Responsibilities

A. RAIR Courses/Workshops

RAIR recognizes that its basic responsibility is to identify and maintain the academic standards that are fundamental to providing quality resources in an environment conducive to learning while ensuring the rights of persons with disabilities.

To meet this obligation, RAIR:
  • has the responsibility to ensure that all of its resources, viewed in their entirety, are accessible.
  • has the right to select among equally effective methods of accommodating persons with disabilities.
  • has the right to refer persons with disabilities to the appropriate agency with requests for accommodations that exceed those currently possible at the facilities serving as the workshop location.
  • has the right to deny a request for services for persons with disabilities. If a request is denied, RAIR has the responsibility to inform the individual of the reasons for the denial.

B. Persons with Disabilities

Persons with disabilities have the right to an equal opportunity to use and benefit from RAIR resources. To ensure this right, persons with disabilities:
  • have the responsibility to identify themselves as needing appropriate, reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities.
  • have the responsibility for making their needs known to RAIR at least four weeks prior to a scheduled RAIR event.
  • have the same obligation as any workshop participant to comply with facility policy and procedures.
  • have the responsibility to follow procedures for services for persons with disabilities, and to do so in a timely manner.
  • have the right to confidentiality of all information regarding their disability. Persons with disabilities have the right to choose to whom information about their disability will be disclosed.
