Samonas Sound Therapy is a scientifically and artistically structured auditory training program that uses music, voice and nature sounds to re-map and restore the brain’s ability to process sound. The auditory system is linked to many skills and functions of the mind/body system. Due to this linking the effects of sound therapy can be far-reaching. Therapists, parents, and educators have witnessed positive change in areas such as learning disabilities, auditory processing disorder, sensory integration, attention and focus, balance/coordination, memory, language and communication, play skills, and social-emotional competence. Used by over 3,000 practitioners worldwide, Samonas Auditory Intervention has proven effective with children and adults of all ages. It is a home-based therapy program and can be done at any time of the day with short listening times (in the minutes range), provided by an interactive App. Samonas is individualized and combines the essential elements of music, sound, and science in specialized recordings.
An auditory intervention program is most effective when used in conjunction with therapy (speech and/or occupational therapy) or programs currently in place. It is not recommended as a replacement for other therapies or medications that have been prescribed by a doctor.
This course presents a rare opportunity to become trained in an Samonas Advanced Auditory Training by Ingo Steinbach, the developer of the method, in person. It will include in-depth information regarding the Samonas System, theory, evaluation, and listening plans. There will be hands on training with case studies and examples from clinical implementation. Participants are encouraged to bring headphones and an iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch as they will create their first listening plan during the training.
Prerequisites: Professional background in the area of intended treatment; understanding of the auditory system and its related functions and skills recommended.
Objectives: Participants will be able to

Ingo Steinbach is a German engineer, physicist, musician, teacher, and pilot. He is the developer and inventor of Samonas Auditory Performance Training, a listening system that utilizes Spectral Activation. Spectral Activation is a unique sound recording method invented by Steinbach, to enhance and modify music and sounds of nature.
The Samonas system has been used worldwide to treat and assist professionals, students, families, and individuals to focus, energize, relax, and treat additional personal and developmental needs. Steinbach has trained thousands of professionals in the use of Samonas with their clients. Steinbach has been instrumental in guiding learning development and treating children with special needs and autism and runs a clinic (Auditory Performance Center) in Singapore.
Samonas has been recognized as the “Rolls Royce” of auditory training. Several outcome studies are currently in progress. For example the efficiency of Samonas in treating preschool children with autism has been verified in an RCT (Double Blind Trial) supervised by a leading university in Australia. A significant difference was found in favor of the Samonas group.
